DESCRIPTION: This class will provide first time founders with guidance on raising early stage rounds of investor funding. There will be assigned reading before the class.

INSTRUCTOR: Brian Laung Aoaeh (Partner, KEC Ventures)

INSTRUCTOR BIO: Brian focuses his time at KEC Ventures on discovering and studying early stage startups. He is fascinated by the combination of factors that result in certain technology-enabled startups becoming dominant, global companies.

Brian joined KEC after serving as a strategy analyst in Global Diversity and Inclusion at Lehman Brothers in New York, NY. Before his tenure at Lehman, he worked at UBS AG in Stamford, CT as an analyst in Group Diversity. He was a pension actuarial analyst at Watson Wyatt Worldwide (now Towers Watson) prior to UBS.

DESCRIPTION: This class will introduce early stage startup founders to data science. The purpose is to encourage early stage founders to leverage data early on to build and grow their business. The instructor will cover strategies, tools, techniques and use cases for startups.

INSTRUCTOR: Keith Maull

INSTRUCTOR BIOKeith Maull is bona fide data geek, with broad interests data science and hacking code to do cool things with data from anywhere.  He has a PhD in Computer Science from at University of Colorado at Boulder, and has over 15 years of broad industry software development and research experience.  He has worked for Fortune 100 companies such as Hewlett-Packard and IBM as well as start-up and non-profit companies and is currently working in Boulder at the National Center for Atmospheric Research.  When he's not thinking about data, or trying to get others to think about it with him, he's spending time with his family and friends in beautiful the Denver Colorado metro area.

INSTRUCTOR BIO: Mike Fraietta is a leading expert in social media marketing and engagement. Mike has served as a Chief Listener and Community Manager at leading software companies, as Enterprise Community Manager for one of the world's largest media companies and as Social Business Strategist implementing 40+ online communities. Companies that Mike has advised and worked directly with include: Nike, NBC, Pepsi, Wall Street Journal, 21st Century Fox, Guardian, Star India, Covidien, Dow Jones, the Canadian Consulate General, HarperCollins and many others. Mike has served as Adjunct-Professor at NYU teaching Politics and Social Media and has also taught social media classes at General Assembly.

Fraietta is currently the Collaboration Product Manager within BNY Mellon, responsible for assisting the Workplace Team transform BNY Mellon’s internal business technologies to work as seamlessly as today's personal technologies do.  His responsibilities include creating strategy for global collaboration, driving direction for digital products and developing programs to shift BNY Mellon’s work culture to the digital age.

DESCRIPTION: This class will cover the use of metrics to build and grow your start.  The instructor with go through the process of gathering data, evaluating and correlating the meaning of data  and implementing  the derived information to guide your decision-making as a entrepreneur.

INSTRUCTOR: Ben Young

INSTRUCTOR BIO: Benjamin Young is a passionate entrepreneur who loves solving problems with technology.  In 2010, Ben started Nexercise with a former classmate to help people improve their health. The company's most recent product is an app called Sworkit that allows users to customize and play personalized video workouts. It has been downloaded over 14 million times, and regularly sits within the top 5 of the Health and Fitness category in the AppStore with no marketing spend. Ben recently appeared on season 7 of Shark Tank where he negotiated the biggest tech deal on the history of the show. Prior to forming Nexercise, Ben led product strategy for a Voice Over IP app that had 60% year-over-year revenue growth before its spin-off and sale. He holds a MBA from the Wharton School of Business where he graduated Top 5% of his class, and a Bachelors of Computer Science from the University of Virginia.
